Graduate Colloquium Planning Has Begun
November 20 2011
The annual Graduate Colloquium planning is officially beginning in earnest. At a recent meeting three topics were decided on to be put to vote by the general
graduate student body. These topics, and any future update details, can be found in the Colloquium Page within this website. When
voting, be sure to consider who you think would be a good person to invite for the topics you consider. Once the topic is chosen, the next step will be to compile a list
of professionals to invite
Voting can be done HERE
Voting will be open until Monday, November 28 (the day we return from Thanksgiving break).
Thanks in advanced for your participation! The Graduate Colloquium is a unique opportunity for all within the graduate school to influence an important and unique event
at the Tulane School of Architecture!
Travel Funding
September 13 2011
Within the email announcing the results of the election was also an announcment for the official beginning of consideration
for travel funding. The travel funding program provides students with a limited amount of funding to encourage students to attend
conferences, symposiums, conventions etc. related to the field of architecture. We wish to encourage students to look for education beyond just the academic setting, better
preparing graduate students to enter the workforce after graduation. For the funding this semester, the event should occur before the beginning of the Spring 2012 semester.
If you are interested please fill out the form attached to the email everyone was sent or in the "Documents" section of this website and drop it off in the SAGG mailbox
in the teacher's lounge on the first floor near the Drawing Board.
If you have additional questions, please direct them to Erin Vaughn, the SAGG Treasurer.

Just a reminder that the forms for participation in the election for class senators is due tomorrow! The list of open seats is below. Again, a government does not work without the participation of those it
represents so fill up those posts! The election will subsequently be online through this coming Monday, September 12. The link to the election will be sent to all graduate students via email as well as on this

Upcoming Election and Graduate Colloquium
September 2 2011
As mentioned during the All School Meeting, today marks the beginning of the election of senators for the graduate classes which have started since the end of the last school year.
The following classes need a representative:
- 1st Year M.Arch. I, 3.5 Year
- 1st Year M.Arch. I, Advanced Standing
- M.Arch. II
- MPS - Master of Preservation Studies
- MSRED - Master of Sustainable Real Estate Development
Participation in a student government is of the utmost importance, don't let your class go unrepresented! Please reference the constitution, which can be found under the "Documents" tab above, for the various
responsibilities for the position of senator. It is a rewarding activity and will only require your time once or twice a month. As this is SAGG's first year, there are many exciting
things in the works and your input is needed!
Also mentioned at today's All School Meeting was the third annual Graduate Colloquium. The colloquium is a graduate led symposium consisting of a series of lecture and discussion events.
The subject matter is chosen by the graduate body as a whole and the speakers are then chosen based on the decided topic. We need a few dedicated
individuals to help organize the effort this year. We also need every graduate student to begin thinking about topics to be considered
for this coming colloquium. There will be an All-Grad meeting within the next few weeks to discuss the topic at length.
Welcome Incoming Grads
August 26 2011
Welcome to those grads just starting and those who have been at the Tulane School of Architecture over the summer! We hope you will dive right in and get involved at the school, there is plenty to be involved in. For starters, SAGG will be holding elections for those students which are just starting this year in just a few weeks. There are countless other opportunities for grads to be involved at the School of Architecture and if there is something you feel is missing there is ample opportunity and support to make it happen through SAGG.
